About the Coffee
Foraged from the droppings of wild Kopi Luwaks (Civet Cats) on the 150 year old Balmaadi Estate of Tamil Nadu highlands in India, properly foraged wild Kopi Luwak is only ever available in very small quantities as the process of finding these droppings within large forests is exceptionally time consuming. The unique processing method of Kopi Luwak results in a unique flavour that yields an incredibly balanced cup with overtones of caramel and citrus and almost no bitterness.

Ethical Sourcing
All our Kopi Luwak coffee beans are 100% ethically sourced – foraged only from wild civet cats. Real foraged Kopi Luwak is only ever available in very small quantities as the process of finding these droppings within large forests is exceptionally time consuming. The beauty of the coffee is that the civets are extremely selective and will only consume perfectly ripe coffee cherries, while the enzymes in their digestive tract effectively remove any bitterness.
Balmadi Estate
The 150-year-old Balmaadi Estate in the Nilgiris District of India is certified as organic, eco-friendly, and socially responsible by the Institute for Marketecology. The boundaries of this high-altitude estate provide a refuge for the incredibly varied wildlife of Nilgiris, including panthers, elephants, and the Kopi Luwak, whose droppings are collected from the surrounding forest. These beans are particularly dense, yielding a beautifully dark and rich cup with overtones of caramel and citrus.
